Company

"Individual commitment to a group effort-that is what makes a company/team work."

  • Students must be enrolled in Ballet III or higher to be in Sr. Company or students must be enrolled in Elementary Ballet-Ballet II to be enrolled in Jr. Company.
  • Dancers on Dancepiration's competition teams are automatically part of Company.
  • Students in Company will learn several routines a session in all different styles of dance.
  • Students in Company will perform at various festivals and events throughout the year. A Company piece or two will also be included as part of the Holiday and Spring recitals. The whole company always opens both the first and second act of each show.
  • Sr. Company rehearsals will be every Wednesday from 4-6pm. Jr. Company rehearsals will be decided on by the participants and may change from session to session. Extra rehearsals maybe scheduled before a performance if necessary. Students may only miss two Company rehearsals a session or else they may not perform with the Company for the remainder of the session.
  • Company costumes are provided by the studio. For some pieces students will be asked to wear their class outfit: Black leotard, pink or tan tights, black pants, or black spandex shorts.
  • Company is great for students who do not wish to compete but would like to be a part of a team and be able to get more dance and performance experience. It is also a great way to get to know and work with other dancers at the studio that may not be in the same classes. Company requires dancers to be mature, respectful, hard-working, and dedicated as some days they may be asked to learn a whole routine in one rehearsal.
  • There is no added fee for being in Company but should a dancer choose to join the Company team, they are expected to be at rehearsal every week and to give significant notice if they are not going to make a performance. Dancers may only miss 2 rehearsals a session. Being in Company is a privilege, should a dancer act with disrespect towards another student, teacher, or choreographer they may be removed from a piece or company all together until the next session.
